Begin Again!

Yesterday was the beginning of the April 2011 A-Z challenge by Arlee of Tossing It Out, unfortunately I missed yesterday, but hopefully that will be the only day.  Each day we will blog around a letter of the alphabet.  Yesterday was "A" and today is "B".

Begin again is what I want to write about.  How many times are we given a chance to begin again?  Is there a limit? Are is the old adage "it's not how many times you fall but how many times you pick yourself up"?

I personally think it's how many times you pick yourself up and begin again.  I don't remember the inventor, either Graham Bell or someone like that, was asked how many times he failed before he succeeded.  I'm paraphrasing his reply, it was something like "I eliminated 1100 formulas before finding the right one." He didn't view what he did as failures, but a step closer to success.

I'm looking outside at a beautiful, sunny day.  I can see buds on the trees and a squirrel scampering down a limb.  The birds are singing, it's like a chorus of different singers. It's Spring which always reminds me of new beginnings.

Good luck to all who are participating in the challenge!

Nice post and I so agree. On another note I happen to be on a crusade:Sharing this post to all I come across with word verification-***** I want to read and visit as many people participating in the A-Z challenge but there are over 1000 participants. Awesome yes, possible for me to visit every person, every day...no. Do the world a huge favor and take off your word verification. If you don't know how to do that...click the following link to learn how. I will not comment on anyone that has word verification on. Thanks! *****

I agree, Judy, it's the picking yourself up after each experiment and working on the next one that moves you toward success. Happy B Day!

Some well thought-out statements. What's that old song that says, "Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again."

Hi Judy, long time no see. Thanks for stopping by! Great that you have that view from your window. I love to watch birds and squirrels frolic around. Summer is right around the corner!

I think it's not about the amount of chances you get, but rather whether you're brave enough to take them.

You get as many beginnings as you are willing to start.

Every time I start work on a new story, I truly feel like I've experienced a new beginning in the process. There's just something so awesome about beginning anew.

That's one of the reasons we write, isn't it, so we can experience new beginnings.

Glad you made it to the party. I was getting worried about you.

I love the sentiments of this post. New beginnings every year and at so many points in all of our lives. And according to your blog title this year is another new beginning for me.

Looking forward to a great challenge for all. Have fun.

Contrary to my usual practice of subscribing to comments, to save time during challenge I will not be doing so during April. If you want to respond to my comment , please email me directly from your email notification for the comment.
Thanks.

I love this. It is not how many times you fall...so fortunate for me since I am a certified klutz always on crutches or wrapped in bandages. But I do always pick myself up again with a smile, sometimes a grimace!

hi fellow 60ish - I add a few +'s but if I dont look in the mirror hey i can knock a couple of decades off!! - like delving into the past of my family. - new beginning oh yes - and reinventing ourselves - humans are doing this all the time - so many possibilities.

Greetings from another A to Z Challenge participant. Jump back in there with a new beginning. Don't worry about the ones you missed. Tomorrow's letter is "M."

If we all lived life looking forward to new beginnings instead of behind with regret, it would be a different world.
